Camping in the Silent Lake campingground
Last week, I had a camping game with my friends in the Silent Lake for 3 days. Silent Lake is far away for almost 200 km in the north-east of Toronto. It has a large water field and 2 not huge but comfortable felling's sand beach. My friends 's kids boated and swam in the lake. They said they were super-happy and very enjoying the games.
Between these 3 days, the climate is very good. I did a long distance hiking route about 15 km around the lake in the second day with my friends. There are 5 lookout points along the route and the view is very beautiful. The hiking distance was longer and hard, so we all felt a little tired. But we were very exicted when we met deers in the forest on the route and felt wonderful for the good views.
Although we had a disappointed thing for too much mosquitoes, in wy opinion, we had a very worthy vacation on last weekend.

Top 10 Ways to Get Canadian Experience
By Shawn Mintz
Are you Internationally Educated? If so you should congratulate yourself. You are brave and courageous. It takes a very special person who can leave their country and start over in Canada. The following are the top ten ways to find work in Canada:
- A good way to learn about your occupation in Canada is to have information interviews with people who are working in your field, associations and licensing bodies. An information interview is when you meet with someone and ask them questions about what they like about their job, dislike and the future potential to name a few.
This will help you become better informed about the industry. There are other ways to find out about your field such as websites and printed reports. However, talking to an expert or someone already employed will give you a greater insight. - Certain terminology in your occupation may be different in Canada. You may want to go to the library and the Internet to learn the language your industry uses.
- Start to reformat your résumé to a Canadian style. Information that may have been relevant in your own country may not be relevant in Canada. In some other countries it’s normal to write your marital status, age and religion. In Canada this should not be mentioned. We have the Ontario Human Rights Code, which protects us against discrimination. Also, have someone look over your résumé before you send it out. You can go to a non-profit employment service and have your résumé critiqued for free.
- 80% of the jobs are unadvertised and in the ‘Hidden Job Market’. Tapping into the ‘Hidden Job Market’ involves a lot of networking and making cold calls. These two methods may seem a little intimidating but they are worth trying. 20% of the job market consists of jobs that are advertised on the internet, newspapers and trade magazines. I recommend using these methods a little bit during your job search. However, if you focus on the ‘Hidden Job Market’, there’s less competition.
- In your own country you probably had a big network of contacts, however in Canada your network may be small. I have a challenge for you. It’s time to re-build your network in Canada. Socialize with people, attend job search workshops offered by your community, volunteer, attend job fairs and join associations. Talk to everyone! Your family doctor, your children’s teacher or a priest may be able to help connect you to people. Remember that people like to help other people.
- Unfortunately you may not be able to have the same job in Canada right away. Try to find a job that’s related to your field of expertise. If you are an engineer find a job as a technician or technologist. Research the positions that are related to your occupation and apply to them. Getting your foot in the door of a company is a great start. Once in, you will probably be able to apply to internal openings
- Through volunteering, co-op, on-the-job programs and job trials you will be able to prove your skills and abilities to a Canadian employer, learn about the Canadian workplace culture, gain ‘Canadian Experience’ and build your network. Use your availability to volunteer. If a company doesn’t have current openings say, “I understand that you do not have current openings but I would love to volunteer for you company.”
- When asked ‘Do you have Canadian Experience?’ don’t just say no and feel that you have been rejected and that all employers are looking for this so called ‘Canadian Experience’. Tell the employer how your skills are similar to the skills that they are looking for. Also tell them how your international experience will help to benefit the company.
- Prepare yourself for an interview by researching the company, position and yourself. Sell your skills to the employer by telling them stories of your accomplishments and achievements. You are a small company selling your most valuable product – yourself.
- Stay positive, be persistent, proactive, follow-up with all contacts and maintain your motivation level. If you keep trying, good things will come. You can do it and you will do it. Good Luck.

What were your needs/reasons for coming to LINC class?
My reasons for coming to LINC class are: improving my english skills; mading new friends; finding chances to look for job; and enjoying the process.
What things made your needs complicated or special?
Language is the basic skill for living and enjoying life in a new country.
What were the results or outcomes of coming to LINC class?
I realize that my english skills are developing step by step, day by day.
Share a favourite memory from LINC class.
Field trips give me the favourite memory. For example: last thursday, I went to a Job Fair at North York Memorial Hall, 5110 Yonge Street, Toronto, just below North York Central Library with my classmates and teathers, and we visited the second largest library in toronto-- North York Central Library. It is my first experience about these.

Job Fair
A Job Fair was hold at North York Memorial Hall, 5110 Yonge Street, Toronto, just below North York Central Library on May 21, 2015, last Thursday. I went to there by subway from home. I had a appointment to meet my classmates and teathers at 10:45 because the job fair would start at 11 o'clock. There was a lot of people waiting for the job fair starting in Hall.
When I went into the Hall, I saw about 20 desks which were put around the Hall. There were some copies of introducing information about the work position what they wanted to offer. I went around fast to look for what I may be interesting in and then I would talk with them. For example, I saw a employing paper was about drivers of school bus. Then I had a 5-minute talk with the guy and filled in a information paper leaving to him. He told me to wait for their calling. After we finished to look around and talk with the emploier, we went to wokeshop room and listened to a presentation about how we can look for a job which we want.
After then, we went upstairs to North York Central Library. The library had 6 floors and more different function areas. Teathers told us the library is the second largest one in Toronto. The library is so big that we just walked around the second floor together. I saw some little rooms with door and window. Teathers told us people can use these rooms if they want much more quiet. I was very surprise when I saw a piano room. This was beyond my imaginings
After a short break with teathers and classmates in Library, I went back home by subway again with my classmates. I thought that I had a better field trip.

A email to my friend:
Hi, bud!
I found a few interesting places for us and we can go this summer
The first place's name is "Sherkston Shores".
It is near Niagara Fall and belong to lake Erie. It's not far for driving. It has 560 acres of beautiful landscape and two and a half miles of sandy beachfront. In short, it is a beautiful sandy shores of lake Erie.
The secend place that I want to go is "Alpine Indoor".
It is in Mississauga, near toronto. It's a ski and snowboard training centre. It's the Canada's only one indoor training centre for ski and snowboard. It's perfect for all ages, beginners to advanced and it's actually no such thing as "off season". So we can learn how to ski or play snowboard in summer. It's a exciting thing for me!

Hi bud,
I found a few interesting places for us where we can go this summer.
The first place is Sherkston Shores.
It is near Niagara Falls and fronts Lake Erie. It's not far by car. It has 560 acres of beautiful landscape, with two and a half miles of sandy beachfront. In short, it is a beautiful sandy beach along Lake Erie.
The second place that I want to go to is Alpine Indoor Ski.
It is in Mississauga, near Toronto. It's a ski and snowboard training centre. It's Canada's only indoor training centre for ski and snowboard. It's perfect for all ages, beginners to advanced, and actually has no such thing as an "off season." So we can learn how to ski or snowboard in summer. what an exciting place it is for me!

I agree it!
Some parents are reporting that activist teachers are already pushing aspects of the new sex ed curriculum, especially in younger elementary grades. Many are wondering what to do in this instance. Here are my suggestions:
1. You need to submit a formal complaint, in writing, to your school principal, Superintendent and Trustee, detailing the incident and asking them to take steps to ensure it does not happen again, as you deem that material age-inappropriate for your child.
2. When the principal responds, be sure to tell them that you will be withdrawing your children from the school, and that you will not be registering them for next year, i.e. September 2015. If you have already registered them, ask that they be unregistered. (You can always re-apply in September and they will have to take you anyway). Anything less and they'll know you don't mean business.
3. Try to see/meet the teacher with your child present and give them a piece of your mind, in front of your child. This is important. Your child must see you challenging the activist. Be firm, do not lose your temper and make sure they understand that you do not approve and your child is not to listen to them when such matters are brought up again. Tell your child, in front of the teacher, that you do not trust the teacher, that the teacher is a stranger and not part of the family and that she is wrong. Make sure your child repeats this in front of the teacher. Hopefully, the teacher will lose their cool and get angry, if that happens, make sure you maintain your cool as your child will be watching you intently. Be cool, calm and collected. Let the activist blow their top and make sure your child sees it.
Enough for now. Mull the 3 points over and use them as a guideline for action with the activists.
